Born in Hobart, Australia, Chris graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1999 having studied Contemporary Music and Jazz. A lifelong love of music led Chris to adventure to Scandinavia in his twenties, later studying teaching at the Norwegian Academy of Music and working in Scandinavia for over a decade. Through music and audio production, Ikin was also exposed to media design, working part-time in advertising , and web-design. Since 2011 Chris has combined teaching, media production and performing music in and around Launceston, Australia.

Chris’ music work, largely as a bass player, includes a long list of original and cover bands, session work with independent and signed artists, plus performances in the Australian Jazz Festival, Tasmanian Festivale, and Party in the Paddock Festivals. Ikin’s Filmmaking and video productions include TV commercials, Online business promos, and Music Videos.
